After booking my next short break for next month, have been getting excited planning ahead for another trip in the autumn. Was looking originally at going to Russia, but the price and hassle involved in getting a visa has put me off. The other idea I had was eastern Canada, but want to save cash and leave for next year's big trip (provisional plan: New Zealand for 2-2 1/2 weeks with a stopover in Tokyo if possible. Failing that Singapore or Hong Kong would be OK for a few days on the way back)
So far then have these ideas for an Autumn short break (5-9 days):
1) Copenhagen: mainly as have a guidebook already, and have never been to Scandinavia. Like the idea of spending a few days in Malmo, Sweden as well while here.
2) Denmark-Germany: Alternatively fly into Copenhagen then get the train down to Hamburg, and maybe 1 more city in Germany (Cologne?) Only issue here is the cost, and amount of time this train would take.
3) Tallinn- Helsinki: fly to one, ferry then fly back. Issue that Easyjet are going to stop flying to Helsinki, and Ryanair only go from Luton. Plus if I do go to Russia soon would want to visit one of these two as well.
4) Just Germany: 2-3 cities via train, possibly Hamburg, Bremen, Cologne, Dusseldorf or Frankfurt.
5) Holland- really want to go see the Escher museum in the Hague.
Decisions, decisions.....
